Day 2: Spring Break Vegan

Hey Guys! It turns out where I was at over spring break had no service. I still wrote some blogs in a word document and I would like to share them now. So sorry for the delayed posts. These are some really yummy recipes and I hope you enjoy them. These recipes all came from the book called Vegan Planet by Robin Robertson. Here it goes... first day on the beach and this was the recipe I used.

Baked Tofu

This can be found in many natural food stores.
You will need:

One 16-ounce package firm tofu, drained
1/3 cup tamari or other soy sauce
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

1. When take thing tofu out make sure you rub off any excess liquids then cut the pieces into 1/2 inch thick slices.  Place the tofu pieces on a baking sheet and let it sit for 20 minutes.
2. In a small bowl combine the tamari, water, oil, and lemon juice. Blend it well.
3. Place the tofu pieces in a glass baking dish and the pour the marinade over it. Cover and refrigerate over night or for 3 hours, turning the tofu only once.
4.Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Remove the tofu from the marinade and onto lightly oiled baking sheet and bake until the tofu is brown and firm. You may turn them half way through. Then serve and enjoy.

Tofu is really good for you it provides the proteins you will need as a vegan. Since there are no animal products in your diet you must replace them with other high protein products like soy

Here is what yours should look like:
